Installing Amnesia: The Dark Descent on Linux ::

May 31, 2012 at 5:08 pm EST

So, the latest Humble Indie Bundle (number 5) includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The installation should seem fairly trivial, with a shell script for an installer. I however ran into the following problem:

[kota@archdesktop Downloads]$ chmod +x amnesia_tdd_1.2.1.sh
[kota@archdesktop Downloads]$ ./amnesia_tdd_1.2.1.sh
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Installer for Amnesia - The Dark Descent.............

Now, the source of the problem is when there is not enough space in /tmp to extract the installer.

This problem can be solved by adding the ‘–keep’ argument as follows:

[kota@archdesktop Downloads]$ ./amnesia_tdd_1.2.1.sh --keep
